PORTHMEOR BEACH

Tamarisk Bed and Breakfast has four stunning beaches within a few minutes walk.

Closest beach to Tamarisk

Porthmeor is the town's largest beach attracting families and surfers alike. Due to its Westerly facing it is very popular with surfers and body boarders and has a surf school operating all season with qualified instructors. Boards and wetsuits for hire in peak season. Surfboard area marked with orange buoys, generally safe bathing: check with lifeguards. Restaurant and cafe facilities on the beach. Scenic cliff walk to Clodgy Point. Porthmeor is the closest beach to Tamarisk Bed and Breakfast.

PORTHMINSTER BEACH

Porthminster beach

Porthminster is the family beach. Retaining the 1930's feel, the beach has a putting green, and chalets and is well protected by the town and piers. A half-mile of golden sands with calm sea conditions. Very safe for bathing, sheltered from most winds. Superb restaurant and cafe facilities exist on the beach. Scenic cliff walk to Carbis Bay.

HARBOUR BEACH

Harbour Beach The Harbour Beach is increasingly popular and is just seconds from the town centre. Very sheltered, with sandy areas in the harbour. A perfect sun-trap in the heart of St Ives. On the harbour front is one of Cornwall's finest restaurants.

PORTHGWIDDEN BEACH

Porthgwidden Beach Porthgwidden is a much smaller beach, nestling between 'the Island' and the old pier. Usually the quietest beach in the town it is ideal for those seeking a little peace and quiet. Delightful sun-trap, with safe bathing. Cafe facilities on the beach.
